Camp 26 was established in Kelowna on March 23, 2012, at which time Camp 26 received Camp Status from the Chief Warden of the Corporation of the Seven Wardens. Following this inauguration, Camp 26 performed the first Ceremony for 112 Candidates at the UBCO Campus.
The Camp 26 Cold Iron of Honorable Tradition is formed of several Ancient Landmarks. The Hammer, and Anvil are represented by a Railway Spike Hammer and a section of Railway Track which were obtained from the Kettle Valley railway line constructed through the Okanagan around 1915 donated to Camp 26 by the Kettle Valley Historical Society. The third landmark, the Chain, consists of a short section of chain from a freighter that has circled the globe many times and donated to Camp 26 from Camp 23. The fourth landmark, the log boom shackle used at the SM Simpson Sawmill, was donated by Sharron Simpson, granddaughter of Stanley Simpson. The remainder of the chain was donated by one of the first Wardens of Camp 26.
